Wankhede stadium likely to host Ranji final

RANJI TROPHY, 2023-24

The Wankhede stadium is likely to host the Ranji Trophy final.

The Ranji Trophy 2023-24 final could be held at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), which has the right to host the coveted title clash, is contemplating staging it at the hallowed South Bombay venue that has hosted many big events, including the 2011 World Cup final.

"Most likely the Wankhede will be the venue," an MCA official told Cricbuzz. "The final decision will be made in the next 24 hours," the official said after Mumbai defeated Tamil Nadu by an innings and 70 runs in the third session of the third day of the five-day semifinal.

This is Mumbai's 48th appearance in the Ranji final. Their opponents in the final will be the winners of the second semifinal, between Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh, which is currently underway in Nagpur.
