Perth to host Border-Gavaskar series opener on November 22

INDIA TOUR OF AUSTRALIA 2024-25

Adelaide will host the second Test, which will be a day-night affair.

The 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and hosts Australia will kick off on November 22 in Perth, Cricket Australia confirmed on Tuesday (March 26). The five-match series will then move on to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Perth's newest Test venue has hosted four Tests so far and the home side have won all four. While the stadium hosted India during the 2018-19 tour, no Test was scheduled the last time around in 2020-21.

The D/N Test will be the second Test, scheduled to begin on December 6 in Adelaide. The last time India played a pink-ball Test under lights in Adelaide, they were shot out for just 36 and eventually lost the game. This time though, they do have a nine-day gap to prepare for the pink-ball Test.

The Gabba in Brisbane, widely recognised as Australia's fortress which was breached by the visiting Indian side last time, will host the third Test. The fourth and fifth Tests will be the traditional Boxing Day and New Year's Test at the MCG and the SCG respectively.

Prior to India's visit, Pakistan will be in Australia to play six white-ball games having played only Tests this time in 2023-24. The teams will play three D/N one-day games at the MCG, the Adelaide Oval and the Perth stadium before clashing in a three-match T20I series that will conclude on November 18.
