Jeff Bezos predicted Trump would lose, urged people to sell Tesla stocks Elon Musk
Tesla CEO and US President-elect Donald Trump's pick for leading 'DOGE', Elon Musk tweeted on November 21 that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos urged people to sell their Tesla and Space X stocks because Trump would lose the election.
Reacting in the rare tweet, Bezos denied the statement.
In his post on X, Musk wrote, "Just learned tonight at Mar-a-Lago that Jeff Bezos was telling everyone that @realDonaldTrump would lose for sure, so they should sell all their Tesla and SpaceX stock."
Both Musk and Bezos are part of the current list of the top 5 richest men in the world.
Musk ranks at 1 with a net worth of $331 billion and Bezos is the second richest man in the Bloomberg Billionaire Index with $226 billion.
This is not the first time the duo has engaged in public rivalry.
In March 2024, Elon Musk said Bezos's ex-wife MacKenzie Scott was the reason behind the death of Western civilisation.
Musk had also previously accused Scott of donating to Democrats.
In October this year, the Washington Post (Owned by Bezos), refused to endorse the Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the US election.
Bezos reacted to the decision calling it "principled."
But Bezos received extreme criticism and people called the approach "cowardice" and said Bezos did it to avoid any consequences by angry Musk if he won.
'Extraordinary comeback'
When Trump was announced the winner of the 2024 US presidential election on November 6. Bezos congratulated him.
He took to X and wrote, "Big congratulations to our 45th and now 47th President on an extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory."
