India vs Sri Lanka: Exciting 5-Match Women’s T20I Clash Announced for Dec 21–30
India Set to Host Sri Lanka for High-Voltage 5-Match Women’s T20I Series, Dec 21–30
India will host Sri Lanka for a five-match women’s T20I series scheduled from December 21 to 30, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Friday. The opening two matches will be played on December 21 and 23 at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, while the remaining three fixtures are set for December 26, 28, and 30 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
This series marks India’s first international assignment after clinching their maiden Women’s ODI World Cup title in Navi Mumbai earlier this month. It also serves as a crucial step in the team’s preparation for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in England from June 12 to July 5.
The announcement comes in the wake of Bangladesh’s December tour of India being postponed due to political tensions between the two nations. Earlier, India’s men’s tour of Bangladesh had also been pushed to September 2026.
Visakhapatnam recently hosted India’s league-stage matches against South Africa and Australia during the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, along with a ten-day pre-tournament camp. Thiruvananthapuram, meanwhile, will welcome women’s international cricket for the first time after previously hosting men’s T20Is, ODIs, youth ODIs and Tests.
Following the Sri Lanka series, attention will shift to the fourth edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), scheduled from January 9 to February 5, 2026 in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara. India will then depart for a multi-format tour of Australia from February 15 to March 6.
