Hawk-Eye admitted to an error that led to Rilee Rossouw being given not out.

Hawk-Eye has admitted to a "human error" in the decision-making process that led to Rilee Rossouw being given not out in the match between Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United.

The incident happened off the final ball of the 11th over, bowled by Agha Salman. Gladiators skipper Rossouw attempted a sweep but missed, and was given out leg-before by umpire Aleem Dar. The batter took the review and Hawk-Eye revealed that the impact was outside off, forcing the onfield call to be reversed. But it was later revealed that incorrect ball-tracking data was shown, leading to the wrong decision.

"Hawk-Eye has admitted the system had correctly tracked the delivery in question for the Decision Review System (DRS), showing the impact as umpire's call and wickets as hitting. However, due to an operator error, incorrect ball tracking data was put to air, which meant an incorrect outcome was reached," a PSL media release on Friday (February 23) stated.

The release added that the correct tracking data would have been available only a few seconds later after the incorrect data was shown, and that Hawk-Eye offered its regrets.

Gladiators eventually won the match by three wickets, getting to a target of 139 in the penultimate over. Rossouw, who scored 34 not out off 38, was named the Player of the match.

The Hawk-Eye goof-up didn't go well with United captain Shadab Khan who made his displeasure known during his chat with the broadcasters in the post-match presentations.

"I think technology was at fault for this loss. We were shown a different ball as to the review. I bowled 4 overs as a leg spinner, it wasn't turning much. This one showed impact outside off and spinning away further. In a big tournament like this, there shouldn't be such mistakes," said Shadab.
