Efforts Redoubled to Resolve Border Issues EAM Jaishankar Holds Meeting With Chinese Counterpart At SCO Summit

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Heads of State summit in Astana on Thursday.


The two leaders greeted each other with a warm handshake and posed for pictures before they headed for the bilateral meet.

The two leaders discussed early resolution of remaining issues in border areas and agreed to redouble efforts through diplomatic and military channels to that end.



The Foreign Minister emphasised respecting the Line Of Actual Control (LAC) and talked about ensuring peace and tranquillity in the border areas.
