Latest Nottingham Forest news as Nuno Espirito Santo's Reds lose 1-0 to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo did not hide his fury when he faced the media after Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Reds have had cause for complaint over several refereeing calls this season, and Sunday’s clash at the Amex Stadium added another one to their list. They argued the Seagulls should have had Jakub Moder sent off for a lunge on Neco Williams in the second half.

Forest were already behind at that point, after Andrew Omobamidele’s own goal with 29 minutes gone. But Nuno felt a red card for the hosts could have changed the game, especially as his team improved after the break following a lacklustre first half.

NES: “We have to wait. We receive them, they apologise. Everybody is aware of the mistakes. I don’t know how many mistakes we have had but it is a lot.

“I am trying to be honest and trying to keep myself calm, be respectful, but I think it’s enough. It’s enough.

"The press say (it's because) of the result. No, no, no. We won against West Ham but they didn’t give us a penalty, a clear one. Why? Why didn’t they give us one? Why did Paul Tierney give possession to Liverpool? Why against Newcastle didn’t they give us a penalty when the score was 2-2 after coming from behind?

“We don’t know how the games are going to finish, including today. All of these things, I say it’s enough. Finish. Finish. Please someone tell me what’s going on, because why always us? What is going on?

“You want me to continue? You want me to continue? I’ll continue.

“Look, I arrived in England some years ago and the referees were amazing. I understand that suddenly they lost a group of referees who were very strong and very experienced. Now new referees are coming and they need time and sympathy to become better, but we don’t have time. We are professionals and we don’t have time.

“I’m asking you, what’s going on? I don’t want to go that way because I will get myself in trouble, but what’s going on? Why always us? Why?

“Go see the shin of Neco Williams. Go ahead and see it. He will not post it (on social media). But I tell you, it’s a red card.

"Why? Can someone in this room tell me they have a different view? It is so obvious, isn’t it? Now you know what is going to happen, in two days they are going to apologise.”
