In a high-temperature afternoon fixture in Delhi, Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss and elected to bat first against Punjab Kings.

Despite losing the toss, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer said he would have preferred to bowl first anyway, calling the toss “inconsequential” under the scorching 41-degree conditions.
