Donald Trump will be the president of the United States (US) once again.

According to data shared by the news agency Associated Press, Trump was just three votes away from winning 270 of the total 538 votes in the Electoral College. 


As it became crystal clear that Trump would be the next head of the state, several world leaders went on their social media handles on Wednesday (Nov 6) to congratulate the Republican leader

'Heartiest congratulations my friend': Indian PM Modi
In a post on X, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Donald Trump.

"As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership," Prime Minister Modi said.

"Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity," Modi added. 

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu too shared a congratulatory message for Trump and said the Republican's victory was history's greatest comeback.

"Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.

This is a huge victory!" Prime Minister Netanyahu wrote on X. 

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron were among the other leaders who congratulated Trump. 

"Congratulations to President Donald Trump on his election victory. Australians and Americans are great friends and true allies.

Working together, we can ensure the partnership between our nations and peoples remains strong into the future," Australian Prime Minister Antony Albanese said.

'Make America Great Again'
Donald Trump began his victory speech by saying "Make America Great Again," on Wednesday. 

Addressing an audience at his election night watch party at the West Palm Beach Convention Centre in Florida, Trump said he would not rest until he and his Republican Party delivered a strong and prosperous America.

“Every single day,” Trump said, “I will be fighting for you with every breath in my body.”
