A ministry statement said that 45 people were killed and 179 others injured in Israeli attacks over the last 24 hours, taking the number of injured people to 11,267.

Israel has mounted a huge air campaign in Lebanon against what it claims are Hezbollah targets since Sept. 23, displacing more than 1.34 million people.

Meanwhile in Gaza, Israeli forces killed 29 Palestinians and injured 93 others in Gaza strip.

LEBANON

Two people were killed and 15 others injured Thursday in Israeli airstrikes targeting two towns in the Baalbek-Hermel province, eastern Lebanon, the Health Ministry said.

“An Israeli airstrike on the town of Yammoune in Baalbek-Hermel resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to nine others,” Lebanon’s official news agency quoted a Health Ministry statement as saying.

It added that an Israeli airstrike on the town of Sefri in Baalbek-Hermel wounded six people.

Hezbollah said that its fighters targeted Israeli troops in northern Israel with advanced missiles.

The statement followed a series of releases from the group, which has repeatedly claimed to have repelled Israeli forces attempting to infiltrate from various points in southern Lebanon since early October, when Tel Aviv began its ground incursion efforts.

In a series of statements, Hezbollah said its fighters launched advanced missiles without specifying the type at a large group of soldiers in the Shatula and Kfar Giladi settlements in northern Israel, hitting them “accurately.”

The group said its forces also “targeted Israeli soldiers in the Avivim settlement in northern Israel with a rocket barrage.”

Hezbollah said it also targeted two Israeli tanks with guided missiles near the border town of Maroun El Ra in southern Lebanon, “setting them ablaze and causing casualties among their crews,” according to the group’s statement.

Earlier, the Israeli army said that the two officers and three soldiers, from the Golani Brigade, were killed in southern Lebanon on Thursday.

It said nine other officers and soldiers were severely injured in battles in southern Lebanon and Gaza on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hezbollah is gradually escalating its rocket and drone attacks against Israeli troops alongside the border as well as deep inside Israel.

About 55 Israeli soldiers have been killed in clashes since the start of the invasion last month, while more than 500 others have been injured.
Hezbollah has destroyed 20 Merkava tanks, four military bulldozers and two surveillance drones.

“In accordance with the leadership of the resistance, the operations room announces moving to a new escalatory phase in the confrontation” that will become clear in the coming days.

At least 29 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli indiscriminate attacks in the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall death toll since last year to 42,438, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Thursday.

A ministry statement added that some 99,246 others were injured in the ongoing assault.

“The Israeli occupation committed two massacres of families in Gaza, resulting in 29 deaths and 93 injuries in the past 24 hours,” the ministry said.

“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

The Israeli army on Thursday claimed that it killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in a military operation in the Gaza Strip.

In an official statement on X, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced “the elimination” of Sinwar in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Israel Katz also said that Sinwar was killed.

The military admitted that there were no signs of the presence of hostages in the area where he was killed.

US President Joe Biden said on Thursday that Washington helped Israel track down Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

“Shortly after the October 7 [2023] massacres, I directed Special Operations personnel and our intelligence professionals to work side-by-side with their Israeli counterparts to help locate and track Sinwar and other Hamas leaders hiding in Gaza,” Biden said in a statement, referring to a cross border attack last year by Hamas which killed some 1,200 people, followed over the last year by Israeli attacks killing over 42,400 Palestinians in Gaza.

Ten Palestinians, including three children and their mother, were killed, and others were injured on Thursday in a new Israeli attack on a house in central Gaza, the Palestinian civil defense said.

“Bodies of 10 martyrs were recovered from under the rubble after an Israeli bombardment that targeted the Al-Talbani family’s home in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp,” a civil defense statement said.

At least nine Palestinians, including three children and their mother, were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike in the central Gaza Strip on Thursday, a medical source said.

The fatalities occurred when an Israeli warplane fired a missile into a house in the Maghazi refugee camp, the source added.

The house was flattened in the attack, according to eyewitnesses.

Search and rescue operations are underway for survivors under the rubble.

At least 25 civilians were killed and scores injured in Israeli shelling of a school sheltering displaced people in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday, a medical source said.

The attack targeted the Abu Hussein School in the Jabalia refugee camp as displaced people gathered to take their lunch, Gaza’s government media office said.

The death toll from the attack is expected to rise, the medical source said.

Nine civilians, including children and women, were killed this afternoon in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, located in central Gaza.

16 civilians were killed and dozens were injured, including women and children, when the Israeli occupation forces bombed a school housing displaced people in Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that the Israeli army bombed the Abu Hussein Elementary School affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which houses displaced people in Jabalia camp, north of the Strip.

Earlier today, at least three Palestinians were killed and others were injured when the occupation bombed a tent at a school housing displaced people east of Deir al-Balah city, central Gaza Strip.

Local sources reported that the strike targeted a populated area within the camp, leading to the tragic loss of at least nine lives.

At least 28 Palestinians, including children, have been killed and 160 wounded in an Israeli attack on a United Nations school sheltering displaced people in Jabalia, in northern Gaza.

The Israeli army admitted that it hit the school, alleging that Hamas and Islamic Jihad members were operating inside the building.

Israeli warplanes on Thursday destroyed two mosques in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The airstrike targeted mosques in the Musbah area, a local source told Anadolu.

Israeli aircraft targeted a school-turned-shelter in Block 12 of the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza Strip, according to witnesses.

Witnesses said there were no casualties from the attack as displaced persons had already evacuated the school due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes and repeated fire from Israeli drones.

At least 1,139 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were taken captive.
