The Israeli army said on Tuesday (Nov 12) that four of its soldiers have been killed in the northern Gaza Strip.

The IDF said in a statement that all four "fell during combat in the northern Gaza Strip" on Monday, bringing the total number of Israeli soldiers killed in the Palestinian territory since the start of ground operations in October last year to 376.

The slain troops were named 20-year-old Staff Sergeant Orr Katz, 21-year-old Nave Yair Asulin, 21-year-old Gary Lalhruaikima Zolat, and 20-year-old Ofir Eliyahu, Times of Israel reported.

The killing of soldiers came just after Gaza's civil defence agency said that at least 14 people were killed in Israeli strikes on the Palestinian territory.

"At least 14 people were killed and dozens injured early Tuesday morning after several (Israeli) strikes on the Gaza Strip," spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP.

Saudi condemns Israel's 'Genocide'

Both incidents came a day after State leaders met in Riyadh on November 11 for an Arab and Islamic summit on the situation in Gaza and Lebanon, with the aim of unifying visions and positions and following up on the outcomes of a similar joint summit held last year before the conflict in the region expanded.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said in his opening speech, "The Kingdom renews its call and categorical rejection of the genocide committed by Israel against the brotherly Palestinian people."

"We are not dealing with a state in the legal sense, but rather with an outlaw colonial entity," said Syrian President, Bashar Al Assad.

"We are not dealing with a people in the civilised sense, but rather with herds of settlers closer to barbarism than to humanity."

'Stop Israeli Aggression'

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on November 11 called on Arab and Muslim countries to translate their pledges of support into action and take measures to stop Israeli "aggression".

"The establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital would require more immediate efforts and practical solutions to force (Israel) to stop its aggression and genocide against our people," Hamas said in a statement after Arab and Muslim leaders demanded at a summit in Riyadh that Israel withdraw from occupied Palestinian territories as a precondition for regional peace.
